UCAS Programme for Year 13 Students
Our ten-week UCAS Programme is an integral part of the A-Level curriculum for Year 13 students. This programme helps students to:
- Explore and select suitable degree courses
- Make informed decisions about where to apply
- Receive guidance on funding options and student accommodation
- Craft a standout Personal Statement tailored to their chosen course
Through this structured programme, students gain confidence and clarity, maximising their chances of securing places at their preferred universities.
Careers Guidance and Work Experience
Beyond university applications, we support students in gaining work-shadowing opportunities and offer personalised careers advice. Our goal is to help students understand their strengths and make informed decisions about future study or employment pathways.
Career Workshops for Years 10–12
In the autumn term, we run Career Workshops for all Year 10, 11, and 12 students. These workshops include:
- CV writing tailored for students
- Formal interview training assessed by HR specialists from leading organisations
- Insight into professional expectations and workplace skills
These sessions equip students with the tools and confidence they need to succeed in university applications, apprenticeships, or early career opportunities.
At St Albans Independent College, we are committed to preparing students for academic and professional success, ensuring that each student has the guidance and support to reach their full potential.
