Teacher of Biology – Full-time or Part-time
Summary
The College is looking for an exceptional A-level and GCSE teacher of Biology. With 80 students and 30 staff in classes of no more than 7 students, the College is a small but growing establishment. A reduced administrative burden, a focus on teaching, and a flexible approach to timetabled working hours all mean the College has a unique and successful approach to education.

St Albans Independent College, founded in 1988, has established an excellent reputation for providing the highest quality education. Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced, many of whom are current examiners. The College is looking for an exceptional Biology teacher with a dynamic and inspirational approach to teaching. Teaching both GCSE and A level, you will enable all pupils to reach their potential and challenge our most able students. The successful candidate should be experienced and personable, able to work with small classes of varied students to achieve the very best outcomes. Empathy for a wide variety of students with differing needs is essential.

The successful candidate will be required to:
- Hold an honours degree in a related science subject and QTS
- Teach both GCSE and A level Biology
- Provide detailed feedback on work in relation to exam requirements
- Be organised and focused on success
- Have a track record of success among Biology students
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Have empathy for a wide variety of students with differing needs
Hours: Flexible Working Days & Hours on a Full Time or Part Time basis
Weeks: 34 weeks per academic year
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000
